A Chalfonts woman is set to take centre stage at one of the world’s largest arts festivals.
Evie Florence will be making her way from Chalfont St Giles all the way to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe later this month.
Evie will perform her one-woman play, The Other, from August 21 to 27. The play explores the lives of a second-generation Italian immigrant family from the perspective of their home.
The synopsis reads: “The play is essentially a story of love and loss told from the perspective of the family home. Plus, there’s a lot of pasta in it, which is always good.”
The play first debuted with a sell-out performance at Drayton Arms Theatre in London in April 2022. All the money went towards homelessness charity Shelter.
One review of the production stated: “The Other makes for a heart-wrenching yet light-hearted show and Florence’s stellar performance is reason enough to give it a watch.”
