Abbots Youth FC Under 8 players were given the opportunity to “Train Like a Pro” with a Christmas Match Day experience and training session all under the expert guidance of Watford FCs Community Sports and Education Trust coaches.
The tuition, which took place at Watford FC’s training ground in London Colney in cold, wet and windy conditions, saw the young players getting pro tips on passing, ball control and penalty shoot outs with the event culminating in a training match where they put all the new skills into action.
After the session, the players attended Watford FCs home Premier League match against Huddersfield Town where they got to watch the professionals live on the pitch.
Leigh Frost, Abbots Youth FC Under 8 Manager says: “ Train Like a Pro was a fantastic opportunity for the players, of all abilities, to develop their footballing talent under the expert eye of Watford FC coaches.”
Leigh continues: “ It was a great early Christmas present for both our Under 8 Black and Blue teams who all had a great time, even in the freezing weather and rain ! The icing on the cake was watching the Watford game and seeing the professionals demonstrate their skills in a Premier League match.”
