HELP OUT: Pyjama appeal for families in need returns to Pinner

Published on: 8th November 2021   |   By: Lizzie Ellis   |   Category: Uncategorized

The annual Pinner Christmas Eve Pyjama appeal returns to the town this year, and residents are invited to donate sets of new children’s PJs to families in need in the community.

Hilary Ford, Head of Operations at Pinner High School has organised the appeal over the past few years, after seeing a similar pyjama appeal in her hometown of Liverpool.

Hilary said: “In 2019, I was delighted and very surprised to receive over 200 pairs of lovely new children’s pyjamas from family and friends. Last year, family and friends were keen to donate again and, extending the appeal to West Lodge Primary School and to Pinner High School, more than 350 pairs of beautiful jim-jams were donated.”

The pyjamas were passed on to hundreds of local families in need by local agencies and charities, including Harrow Social Services Children in Need Team, Home-Start Hillingdon, women’s refuges in Harrow, Hillingdon and across North West London, and the Salvation Army.

If you would like to donate new children’s pyjamas this year, please send them to: Pinner Christmas Even Pyjamas, c/o Pinner High School, Beaulieu Drive, Pinner, HA5 1NB by Monday, December 6.

Please send new pyjamas only, any age 0-18, boy/girl/unisex, not necessarily Christmassy because the pyjamas are distributed to families from all backgrounds and cultures. To make alternative arrangements for collection or delivery email hford@pinnerhighschool.org
