Pinner-based charity Goods for Good is appealing for toiletries which will be donated to those suffering hardship in the UK and sent to those in need in Moldova, Ukraine and earthquake disaster regions.
Donations can be dropped off at 1 Cecil Park from 10am until 2.30pm on Sunday, May 21, but donations are welcome as early as Sunday, May 7.
The charity is looking for toiletry items including nappies, wipes, toilet paper, toothbrushes, deodorant, tissues, shaving foam, feminine hygiene products and pull-up incontinence pads.
The collection is organised in collaboration with Leonie’s Life and Legacy, a programme that was set up in honour of late resident Leonie Lewis. She was the founding director of the Jewish Volunteering Network and organised a number of appeals for charity. Last year, she set up a similar collection for those affected by the war in Ukraine.
Leonie’s husband Howard Lewis said: “The charity is trying to collect hygiene goods as those affected are desperately in need. We’ve heard stories of children who have been bullied as the parents can’t provide them with things like soap and toothpaste. The concentration for the collection is goods for hygiene.
“There is a multitude of problems across the world and this charity is trying to raise awareness of all of the people – overseas and in the UK – that are desperately in need of help.”
