Children from The Dan Tien Performing Arts Studios in Watford have adapted well to repeated lockdowns over the last year, attending classes online whilst the studio was forced to close.

On Monday, April 12 they premiered their latest video on YouTube, a cover of The Muppets’ classic, “Life’s A Happy Song” with the aim of lifting people’s spirits as we come out of lockdown and reminding them that we have everything we need around us. The video stars 40 local children, all between the ages of four and 16.

Amy Lazzerini, Co-Principal said: “Producing this video with the children was a wonderful way of connecting each week. The performers had to learn the whole thing remotely and I was immensely impressed with the professionalism they showed. The quality of the video shows just how hard they have worked.”

The children were delighted with the video, which has already been watched over 700 times since its release and excitedly watched the premiere countdown.

Nine-year-old Poppy said: “Taking part in the video made me feel happy and helped me forget the uncertain times. I felt included and proud and was so excited to see the live video!”

India, aged eight said: “It was really fun to be part of. I loved the song we did as it was a really happy one. My teacher showed it to my class and they loved it!”
