Applications are now open for Kings Langley residents to show off their green thumbs at this year’s Parish Council Garden Competition.
The annual competition is a way for the community to celebrate the English garden and the local people who give a little something back to the environment.
Residents with flowers, tubs, troughs or unusual garden features are invited to take part over the weekend of Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27.
This year’s judges will be Gerry Angiolini and Alan Johnson, supported by the expertise of Ian Barrow from the Sunnyside Rural Trust.
Speaking to KINGSnews, Alan said: “We’re beginning to wonder if we will be looking at flower beds or water beds this year.
“Gardeners are by nature an optimistic bunch, but I suspect the Biblical weather we’ve experienced at the start of spring is a bit of a challenge. I have no doubt it is a challenge they will overcome.”
Application forms can be obtained from the parish council offices or by getting in touch via email at KLPC@kingslangley-pc.gov.uk
