GREAT WORK: Volunteers from Chorleywood sort out aid for Afghan families

Published on: 12th November 2021   |   By: Amy Pollard   |   Category: Uncategorized

Voluntary groups Chorleywood4Refugees and Together100 have been busy sorting aid for Afghan families.

On Saturday mornings between 11-1pm volunteers have been getting together at the Sorting Hub in Rickmansworth working through the donated aid for the Afghan families.

A member of Chorleywood4Refugees took to Facebook and said: “We will still be sorting aid for Afghan families on Saturday mornings for some weeks still. If you want to get involved just message this page. (Chorleywood4Refugees Page).”

A Together100 volunteer was surprised with the amount of support received so far.

They said: “Saturday was extraordinary. You turned up and literally rocked our volunteer world – 17 helpers at The Sorting Hub, three home sorters and the wonderful Anlex Garden Centre sending emergency banana boxes.

“We will be at the Sorting Hub every Saturday working through the donated aid for the Afghan Families between 11-1pm. If you can make it along next week let us know.”

People interested in helping out can join on Saturdays at First Floor, Unit 3 Wolsey Business Park, Tolpits Lane, Rickmansworth. WD18 9BL.
