A man from Bushey who has regularly donated blood to the NHS for more than 20 years has reached the impressive milestone of 100 donations.
Daniel Glicksman, a Business Development Manager from the town was first inspired to give blood 20 years ago when he saw an advert on TV asking people to donate. When he was 26, he signed up for his first blood donation and has regularly given blood ever since.
Daniel told BUSHEYNews: “I’m sure everyone knows someone who has been in hospital and would have needed blood at some point, and you never know when you could need it yourself. I would say to someone who is considering a donation, that giving blood could save a life.
It doesn’t take a lot of time at all, just one hour every three months. If one person who reads this article is inspired to give blood then I will be happy.”
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused blood donations in England to hit the lowest point in 25 years. The NHS is urging people to come forward and help rebuild the service for the future.
