GREAT WORK: Ruislip house builder raises thousands for charity

Published on: 11th July 2022   |   By: Dean Shaw   |   Category: Uncategorized

Staff from a Ruislip-based house builder relived their school days as they took part in a fun-filled charity sports day in aid of Cancer Research UK (CRUK).

Bellway North London, whose head office is in Bury Street, organised the event for its employees at Ickenham Cricket Club, where New Zealand cricketer Sam Hinds, was on hand to give them a masterclass in batting and bowling.

The sports day event also included a five-a-side football match, agility course, space hopper races and traditional egg and spoon and sprint races.
A raffle was also drawn, with great prizes donated by suppliers of Bellway North London.

As well as the raffle, staff were also treated to a buffet, barbecue lunch and live music from local band Alibi.

In total £2,245 was raised on the day, with all the funds going directly to CRUK.

Ali Maruf, managing director of Bellway North London, said: “It was fantastic to be able to bring everybody together for an afternoon of fun and games and I speak on behalf of everyone by saying it was a wonderful occasion to be a part of.

“The sun was shining and the team were able to let their sporting competitiveness take over for an afternoon, all while remembering why we were there – to help raise life-saving money for CRUK.”
