A talented teen from Chorleywood, who took part in last year’s series of ITV’s The X Factor: The Band, has recently released his first song on YouTube.
Fred Roberts, currently studying A Levels at Watford Grammar school for Boys, released the acoustic version of “Internet Crowd” on October 6 and it is doing ‘brilliantly’.
The upcoming singer and songwriter has quite a big fan base, with 43k people following him on Instagram.
His mum, Jo Roberts, said: “The song is doing brilliantly, it reached around 1,900 views on YouTube in just five days.
“He only set up his YouTube channel during lockdown and since then he has been uploading a new cover every week.
“He got lots of support even from old school friends. People are loving it; some are saying it’s their favourite song.
“He just wants to say thank you for the support, you know artists are generally very insecure. They don’t know if they’re good enough, but people following him and giving him encouragement made him think that oh maybe he is good enough. It just makes him believe in himself a bit more.”
Fred would like to go to university and pursue a career in music business.
His mum added: “He wants to study music business so that one day he could be Simon Cowell himself.
“Have his own label and help people to find new talent and to produce music.”
