During the two lockdowns, two Little Chalfont residents helped ensure Chiltern Foodbank was not short of food donations.
Through the efforts of Catherine Kunzig Murphy and Jules Hargreaves, the Little Chalfont community rallied during the year and donated an amazing four tonnes of food.
The final few weeks up to December 5 were focused on the Chiltern Foodbank’s annual Christmas Appeal.
There were opportunities to drop-off food and other Christmas Hamper items over three Saturdays in the village centre.
With some help from the Community Association with promotion ideas, the community excelled itself by responding with almost 50 per cent of the year’s total – 1.9 tonnes.
A spokesperson for the Chiltern Foodbank said: “We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the Little Chalfont Community and we cannot thank them enough.”
In recognition of their sterling efforts and dedication, Catherine and Jules were awarded first place in the Local Impact category of the recent Proud of Bucks Awards.
