Wealdstone FC continues to dominate the National League South following their fourth consecutive victory over Hungerford Town.
At The Vale, Dean Brennan’s strong side pressed high from the get-go with three corners in the opening five minutes.
Hungerford’s defence performed well to keep The Stones at bay but some superb link-up play from Danny Green and Jacob Mendy lead to the winger slipping the ball into the bottom corner.
After the break Hungerford made the score level thanks to a free kick given away in a dangerous position which allowed Josh Martin to head in Joseph Tomlinson’s free kick.
The score didn’t stay level for long as Dennon Lewis clinically put Wealdstone 2-1 up just two minutes later.
With 25 minutes to go Ross Lafayette latched onto a Phil Roberts cross and smashes it past Hungerford’s keeper Adam Siviter.
Winning four games on the bounce Wealdstone top the National League South with 15 points with an impressive 12+ goal difference after only six games.
The Stones travel to the Dorset coast on Mank Holiday Monday to face another fell-performing side in Weymouth FC.
