Police are warning residents in Rickmansworth about a money scam.
A number of teenage boys have been knocking on doors in the area asking for cash donations to help support a boxing club that doesn’t exist.
The teens, who are thought to be aged between 12 and 16 years, are said to be armed with a clipboard and in groups of two or three as they approach homes. It’s thought they are pocketing any money they receive.
Local Neighbourhood Watch Officers have also warned that the same group have been stopping people in the street asking for money in other parts of Watford and Hemel Hempstead.
Watch Liasion Officer Philip Waine said: “If you are approached by the group and feel threatened call 999.”
