An Abbots Langley coffee morning group has donated £1,000 to a youth counselling service run by the YMCA.
The A Heart for Abbots Langley team has been hosting a morning meet-up with drinks and food between 10am and 12pm every Thursday at the Methodist Church to bring the local community together.
Recently, they became aware of the Signpost Counselling service offered by the YMCA, a Hertfordshire-based initiative that provides mental health care for young people aged between 10 and 25.
After learning of the costs it takes to run, the team donated £1,000 which they had raised through their coffee mornings.
As the donation was made during the YMCA’s Big Give initiative, the amount will be doubled automatically.
Posting on social media, the YMCA said: “Wow! A huge thanks to A Heart For Abbots Langley, a local coffee shop set up to bring the community together.
“Mental health is so important, and this incredibly generous donation is going to truly change and save the lives of many young people.”
