GRAVE TIMES: New sessions to encourage discussions around death in Abbots

Published on: 19th August 2024   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A group of churches in Abbots Langley is hosting an event to address big questions about death, dying and funerals.

Organised by Churches Together, GraveTalk provides a relaxed café-style environment with tables of three to five people. On each table will be cards with questions to serve as talking points.

Churches Together comprises St Lawrence Church, St Paul’s Church Langleybury, St Saviour’s Roman Catholic Church, Abbots Langley Methodist Church, and Abbots Langley Baptist Church.

Bereavement visitor co-ordinator Sandra said: “Death is a fundamental part of life that will surely happen to us all. Talking about it and planning ahead will help you make the most of your life and hopefully make it easier for those you leave behind. Make those decisions now so that your loved ones are not lumbered with that difficult task.

“Yes, it’s to do with death, dying and funerals, but also about life and society, and it does touch on many positives. You will definitely see smiles and hear laughter.”

The next GraveTalk session will take place in Elvira’s at the Henderson Hub at 7.30pm on Monday, September 9. To book, email bereavement.ctal@yahoo.com
