A table tennis team has made history after becoming the first Rickmansworth side to win the Chalfonts League Fairbank Cup.
Rickmansworth Lawn Tennis Club boasts successful lawn tennis teams, but the club also has an ever-growing table tennis section.
Speaking to RICKYnews, Rickmansworth Table Tennis Club secretary Mark Davis said: “Our A team is full of experienced table tennis players, whilst the B team was born out of people who enjoy playing table tennis more casually or are returning to the sport having not played for years.”
On Wednesday, April 9, the Rickmansworth B Team defeated Ickenham URC A to become the first Rickmansworth side in history to win the Chalfonts League Fairbank Cup.
Mark continued: “We are very proud! I’ve been increasing the popularity for table tennis at the club, and the response has been fantastic! It’s a sport so many people can enjoy; we have players up to 80 years old!”
