GOOD JOB: Chorleywood based theatre school raised money for food bank

Published on: 7th December 2020   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

Chorleywood based CK Theatre School (CKTS) launched ‘Twist for Trussell’ an initiative to raise money for the Trussell Trust during the period of the second lockdown.

While CKTS was closed temporarily, principal Josh and Lucy Sills came up with the idea of launching a series of online classes in aid of the food bank.

The Zoom classes, which were free of charge, could only be attended by the students.

The theatre school encouraged students to ask friends and family to sponsor their participation or make a charitable donation to Trussell Trust via the CKTS JustGiving page.

The initiative started on November 10 and carried on until December 1.

Josh and Lucy Sills, managing director and principal at CK Theatre School said: “As business owners, we have felt the impact of COVID-19 this year, however we know that we’re amongst the lucky ones, and many people have been far more greatly impacted by the pandemic.

“With this in mind, we felt it was important to do something to help others during this time. Not only will ‘Twist for Trussell’ enable us to raise money for a great cause, it will also help us maintain a connection with our students and teachers during this second lockdown, enabling them to enjoy the structure, friendship and familiarity that our classes bring.

“We can’t wait to see everyone again, and to see how much we can raise for this wonderful cause.”
