GOOD CAUSE: Rickmansworth writer raises money for charity with new children’s book

Published on: 28th August 2020   |   By: Geraint Roberts   |   Category: Uncategorized

A writer from Rickmansworth, Linda Flynn, alongside Linda Laurie, an illustrator and Rob Townsend, a recording artist, have recently collaborated on a children’s book and an audio recording to raise money for charity.

A Most Amazing Zoo, published by Chapeltown Books, is an entertaining story for children aged four to eight years old.

It delivers some educational information on animals, which is useful for parents who may find themselves home schooling or entertaining their children in the holiday.

Half of all of the royalties from the book will be donated to Search Dogs Buckinghamshire. This is a purely voluntary Search and Rescue charity which aims to save the lives of many people.

Linda and her dog are currently training with the charity.

She said: “It has been a great privilege to collaborate with some talented people. Linda Laurie and I work really well together, and she knows exactly how to interpret my suggested ideas. It’s so exciting to see her wonderful and funny illustrations take shape.

“Rob Townsend has the most amazing reading voice and so I was delighted when he recorded the story on Audible. Rob really brought the characters and story to life.”
