A young goalkeeper from Watford has been called up to the England U15 Schoolgirls’ South East squad.
Daisy Sherrin, 14, mainly plays in goal and is currently in her fourth season with Watford Ladies FC. The club’s technical director Daniele Denyer noticed the young baller’s talent and put her forward for the England U15 Schoolgirls’ team.
Speaking to WATFORDnews, Daniele said: “She’s really focused, but knows how to have a joke at the same time. She has a great relationship with her teammates, and she always shows determination and drive.
“She’s also very brave! Always jumping into tackles, making saves and putting herself at risk to make sure her team gets the results.”
On Wednesday, October 16, the club revealed that Daisy had made it to the South East squad. The team will face their counterparts in the next stage of the trials, and the top 20 players will then be selected for the England U15 Schoolgirls’ team.
Daniele added: “I’m just really excited for her and her family.”
