A new mother in Radlett is imploring the council to do something about a “dangerous” section of road in the village.
Katerina Vejsadova has become increasingly concerned about the safety of people using the pavement and crossings on the section of Watling Street near Craigmount and Watling Mansions.
Speaking to RADLETTnews, Katerina said: “That piece of road around the bridge is becoming very dangerous, especially when raining, as there is nowhere to hide when cars are approaching and are driving at a very fast speed.
“The drivers keep splashing pedestrians every time due to the build-up of water along the way and are not slowing down.”
She cites a recent incident on Monday, July 31, when she was splashed by a vehicle on her way to a doctor’s appointment.
She said: “The car didn’t slow down and if anything has sped up even more while seeing me walking.”
Katerina also said that she has submitted complaints to Hertsmere Borough Council (HBC) about the matter, but has been referred to the local environment officers.
HBC has been contacted for comment.
