GIVE AND SHARE: Croxley community support charity hamper project

Published on: 28th December 2021   |   By: Lizzie Ellis   |   Category: Uncategorized

Croxley residents have been generously donating to a charity that supports local families, the homeless and young carers in the community over the Christmas period.

Craig Tnms and his partner Caroline Goodwin started Give and Share as a community project for those in need six years ago.

It soon became an official charity, partnering with schools in Croxley, Chorleywood and other local areas.

Craig told CROXLEYNews: “In December we completed a Christmas hamper appeal, donating 220 hampers to schools across Hertfordshire.

“We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated for their generous support.”

The charity helps underprivileged families in the community, providing hampers with food, toiletries, board games, school uniforms and more. Residents wishing to get involved can drop donations to Tony at Croxley Hardware Store, 43 Baldwin’s Lane.

Explaining the reasons behind setting up Give and Share, Craig said: “We saw people struggling and we wanted to do something to help. We haven’t got a lot, but there are people with a lot less.”

In 2022, Give and Share hopes to set up free lessons, teaching people how to cook efficiently on a budget and focus on hampers for the elderly. For more information, join the Facebook group ‘Give and Share’.
