Another incident took place in a private home sometime between 2006 and 2009, where a resident reported a decidedly eerie occurrence. People in the house reported hearing the sounds of a child’s footsteps running around the master bedroom, despite no one being there.
An attempt to record this apparition with a video camera proved fruitless after the equipment turned itself off. The child of the house also said to his mother that he could see a man in the corner of his room, though the mother saw nothing. A cleaner also reported feeling a friendly male presence in the home.
Hauntings have also been reported inside the Feathers Pub on Church Street. A one-time landlord told the story of how he’d fallen asleep in his chair one afternoon and was suddenly woken up by a balloon bursting in his face. Leaping up, he could see no one there, and never uncovered the culprit.
A member of the pub’s bar staff also told of feeling a friendly presence enter a room she was in during the early hours of the morning, though another reported a more worrying incident where objects were thrown at her by an unknown force…
