GET INVOLVED: Kings Langley resident supports the NHS with ‘You Donate, We Deliver’ initiative

Published on: 19th April 2020   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

A resident in Harthall Lane, in Kings Langley, is encouraging locals to volunteer and donate to help the NHS and frontline workers.

Melissa Church has been volunteering as part of the ‘You Donate, We Deliver’ project which aims to provide home cooked food, baked goods, non perishable items and anything they may need to NHS, frontline, ambulance workers and anyone in the care sector.

This will enable them to eat proper food, day or night when they can. In Harthall Lane they are cooking 100-150 meals a week and collection is 9:30 am every Friday from Melissa’s house.

She said: “I just wanted to help where I can, these people are risking their lives daily to help others, it was the least I could do.

“Please get involved in any way you can – however big or small – it feels great to be able to help these selfless amazing people saving lives daily.

“There really are no words. What the NHS and frontline workers are doing is phenomenal, always putting others first and often isolating from their families to do this. The nation is indebted to them and always will be.”

You Donate, We Deliver was set up by two London mums, they started the venture from their homes on March 26.

In a matter of weeks the duo went from providing food for a handful of friends and family in the NHS to feeding thousands of staff on a daily basis, enlisting the help of 50 volunteer delivery drivers and 10 chefs, and operating six regional hubs to serve workers in hospitals across many London boroughs.
