A group that helps maintain the Chorleywood House Estate are seeking supporters and volunteers to join their regular working parties on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
The Friends of Chorleywood House Estate are a group of local people from Rickmansworth and surrounding areas who help Three Rivers District Council look after the 200-year-old Estate and assist with the implementation of the long term management plan of the 170-acre land.
In 2009, the Chorleywood House Estate was granted the prestigious Green Flag Award as one of the best green spaces in the country, and this has been renewed every year since. The volunteers aim to restore and improve the fields, parkland and woods so they can be enjoyed by future generations.
Members of the group recently attended the funeral of a much-loved member, Reg Collison, in personalised high-vis volunteer jackets, as a tribute to Reg’s dedication to the group.
