A series of sports tournaments raising money for suicide prevention charities have raised £400 combined- and that’s just the start of it.
Ricky Salisbury, Kurt Selvaraja and their partners have set themselves an ultra-challenge of 106km non-stop trek around the Isle of Wight in April. Doing so, they hope to raise money for the charity Suicide&Co.
This is a cause very close to their hearts, having all sadly lost someone close to them to suicide themselves.
But before the big day in April itself, the gang have also set about doing a mini challenge every month in the run up to the sponsored walk. These events will raise even more money for their cause.
So far, they’ve organised a bowling tournament that raised £120, featuring many Rickmansworth residents trying their best at the lanes. More recently, on December 19, they managed to raise another £280 through a five-a-side football tournament.
These mini challenges will continue well through the new year, all the way up to April where the gang will be taking on the challenge of their lives.
