An Amersham cheerleader is inviting the local community to support her team’s dream of performing in Florida later this year.
Ten-year-old Gabi is a proud member of the Chiltern Cheetahs, a competitive gymnastics, cheerleading, and dance program training out of Beaconsfield High School.
Gabi competes with team Haste with 15 other local athletes. Late last year, they earned an invitation to the prestigious Youth Summit in Tampa, Florida, after their victory in the Under 12 category at the Future Cheer competition in Paris. The Youth Summit is the World Championships for their age group, where they will compete against the best teams from across the globe.
The team is diligently preparing for the event in April, and has also begun the process of fundraising.
While most significant costs will be met by proud parents, the team themselves have set a fundraising goal to contribute to the extra kit and additional training fees that this competition demands.
Gabi shares: “We are reaching out to you in the hope that you can contribute to our journey. I hope that my dedication can inspire young people in our community, highlighting the values of staying active, training hard, and pursuing one’s goals.”
