A Gerrards Cross woman is part of a team of rowers who are taking on one of the toughest challenges in their sport for charity.
Louise Cox grew up in Gerrards Cross and now lives in London with her sister. Together with her friends Jordan Cole-Hossain and Robyn Hart-Winks, she is preparing for the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Rowing Challenge in December.
This elite endurance task will see the three women rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. They will row for two hours on and two hours off for around 50 days.
They are aiming to raise money for two sporting charities, London Youth Rowing and Access Sport, and are looking for sponsors to help them reach their fundraising target of £100,000.
Louise said: “We want to partner with local Bucks businesses that share our values and want to support grassroots community projects.
“Supporting junior sports events and volunteering at community days is very important to us. We feel this is a great way for young people to hear about our message.”
