Over £7,000 has been raised for a mental health charity, Hertfordshire Mind Network, by staff at Hightown Housing Association, who are based in Hemel Hempstead.

Hightown have been raising money for the local charity through a variety of fundraising events across the year. Some of the fundraising activities include a charity quiz night, sponsored runs, seasonal bake sales, and fancy-dress days.

Both Hightown and Hertfordshire Mind Network work to treat individuals with respect, whilst promoting independence and choice. Hightown currently provides dedicated support for over 150 residents with mental health issues across 15 services in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Types of service include supported living, registered care units and community outreach.

Caroline McGoohan, fundraising manager at Hertfordshire Mind Network said: “As a local mental health charity, Hertfordshire Mind Network are delighted to have been partnered with Hightown for the last 18 months.

“The fundraising activities have been a real inspiration and it is great to see a team of enthusiastic and committed staff wanting to make a difference in their local community. On behalf of the clients, volunteers and staff at Hertfordshire Mind Network, I would like to say a big thank you for the money they have raised so far.

“Their donations will allow us to continue supporting more people in the local community experiencing mental ill health. We look forward to the partnership developing further over the next 18 months.”
