The trustees of Radlett and District Museum (RADM) held a successful fundraising event on March 18, featuring a special celebrity guest.
A full house of more than 100 guests attended the quiz supper at Christ Church in Radlett, which was compèred by comedian Matt Lucas.
The museum’s income comes from fundraising events and donations, so all proceeds from the event will go towards its operating costs.
Several Radlett businesses generously sponsored the event and supplied prizes for the raffle. The main prizes included a bottle of 18-year-old whiskey, a hairdresser voucher, a beauty treatment voucher, a gastro pub voucher, and tickets for two at The Radlett Centre.
The guests enjoyed a meal together and were entertained by Matt who asked the questions, drew the raffle, presented the prizes, and amused them with stories, jokes and anecdotes. He also chatted with and posed for photographs with delighted guests.
Trustee of RADM Chris Wilkins said: “It went extremely well; Matt Lucas was absolutely brilliant. It was a fantastic night, and he kept the audience amused. It was very successful and we received lots of complimentary remarks from attendees.”
