A charity quiz night organised by a Chorleywood councillor has raised £4,500.
Councillor Raj Khiroya, chair of Three Rivers District Council, hosted the event at Moor Park Mansion on Saturday, March 9.
A total of 108 participants put their trivia skills to the test and battled it out across several rounds of quizzing.
The money raised will be split between cllr Khiroya’s two chosen charities: national ovarian cancer charity Ovacome and the Chorleywood-based Friends of Prostate Sufferers.
Cllr Khiroya said: “We are thrilled with the success of the charity quiz night. It was fantastic to see so many people come together for a fun evening while raising awareness for such important causes.
“The funds raised will make a real difference in the fight against ovarian and prostate cancer.
“I must say a special thank you to councillor Rue Grewal, herself a stage four ovarian cancer survivor, who helped out on the night and spoke briefly and bravely of her own journey.”
