This year’s Canons Park Fair has been hailed a great success.
Around 1,000 people attended the 20th annual event, which took place on Sunday, August 4, and is organised by Friends of Canons Park (FCP).
Families and friends enjoyed various activities including a dog show, fun fair, inflatables, face painting, free children’s art activity, ecology discover desk, and community stalls.
There was also live music from the Grimsdyke Brass Band, 60s hits from solo guitarist Adam Garmin, and vibrant sounds from the Sunny Steel Band.
Local police teams from Canons and Stanmore were also in attendance. Their stall was hugely popular, with more than 300 children and their parents turning up. Children also had the chance to try on uniforms and check out the police minibus.
Funds raised from the event will go towards improvements at the park.
Speaking after the event, a spokesperson for FCP said: “Thanks to everyone who supported the Friends by attending the event – an estimated 1,000 people during the day.”
