Residents at Chalfont Lodge in Chalfont St Peter have been discovering and recreating new experiments to pay tribute to women and girls in celebration of International day of Women and Girls in Science.
To celebrate the day (February 11) residents took part in recreating experiments with the care home physiotherapists, Mansukh Chander and Pedro Bras to understand science in depth throughout the day including a virtual trip to space.
They also saw a volcano eruption with acid base reaction and visualised the trip to the moon in a space rocket.
Raj Boodhoo, general manager at Chalfont Lodge said: “We’ve all had a brilliant day learning about all the wonderful scientific things and to know the history of women and girls in Science.
“A virtual trip to the moon was a countless experience and efforts put by our Physiotherapy team to create such an environment for residents was remarkable”.
Their varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual.
