Boxing champion Anthony Joshua has teamed up with Kings Langley School to keep students fit and healthy during lockdown.

Many students dream of having a professional athlete as their PE teacher, let alone two time boxing heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, and that is now reality for students at Kings Langley School because of the work of Mr. Fisher and Kings Langley School.

Joshua will feature in a series of exercise videos over coming weeks to help pupils stay motivated and healthy whilst they are learning at home over lockdown.

Mr. Fisher, Headteacher of Kings Langley School, said he is absolutely delighted to be working with Joshua on this project and looks forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on students.

He said: “We are delighted to have Anthony Joshua working with us at Kings Langley School to support the students to stay healthy and motivated whilst also engaging and progressing with a fully live knowledge rich curriculum on our virtual platform.

“As a school we are delighted that these videos will both promote our own PE department’s live HIIT sessions.”

The workouts are designed to be suitable for the students to perform at home using everyday items, with AJ demonstrating how he used his own Kings Langley School backpack to improve his workout.

Mr. Fisher said: “It was great to see AJ filling the Kings Langley School bag with his boxing gloves and tins from home to teach the students what they can do to stay fit and healthy.

“Our thanks go out to him and his team for giving up their time to help inspire our students.”

Mr. Fisher added that he “looks forward to future engagement with Joshua and his team to further inspire the students”.

“I am sure following this recent visit and engagement we can work closer with AJ and his team when the school reopens in the future to continue to inspire pupils to stay active and healthy.”
