FRAUD TRIAL: Croxley woman pleads not guilty to NHS fraud charges

Published on: 29th July 2023   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Croxley woman accused of nine different charges is to stand trial later this month.

Tanya Maria Nasir, 44, of Watford Road, pleaded not guilty at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 20.

She faces four charges of fraud by false representation and three charges of using a false instrument with intent that it be accepted as the genuine article.

Nasir also faces a charge of possessing or controlling an article for use in fraud, and another for the unauthorised access of a computer with the intent to commit other offences.

The offences allegedly took place over seven years, between 2014 and 2021, with the latest occurring in January 2021.

All nine charges relate to three different medical organisations from across England and Wales: the West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Hillingdon Hospital and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

It is alleged that in several incidents, Nasir used false certificates and lied in her job applications to make it seem as though she was a local neonatal ward matron.

Nasir’s trial is set to take place at Cardiff Crown Court, beginning on Thursday, August 17.
