‘FOSTERING INCLUSIVITY’: Abbots Langley Cricket Club joins new league aiming to ‘provide a platform for female cricketers’

Abbots Langley Cricket Club (ALCC) have confirmed their place in the inaugural Hertfordshire Women’s Cricket League (HWCL).

The league, which was announced as the new league for women’s cricket in Hertfordshire on Monday, September 2, will include several teams across Hertfordshire, including Kings Langley, Berkhamsted and St Albans.

In a statement, HWCL said: “The new league is a significant step forward in promoting women’s cricket and providing a platform for female cricketers to showcase their talent and passion for the sport.

“It reflects the commitment of both Hertfordshire Premier Cricket League and HWCL to fostering inclusivity and enhancing the cricketing landscape in Hertfordshire.”

ALCC were announced as a new member of HWCL at a club forum which took place at Harpenden Cricket Club on Thursday, November 14. Clubs were invited to discuss the new league and meet its new sub-committee.

The league is set to begin on Sunday, May 11.
