Former Shenley hospital to be included in Savile enquiry

As the investigation into Jimmy Savile’s years of abuse continues, it has been confirmed that there was an allegation at Shenley Hospital over 30 years ago. Savile, who died in 2011, was never brought to justice for his crimes after decades of abusing young children. Now the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) have reported an allegation in the early 1980’s that Savile abused a teenager at the hospital site on Black Lion Hill. A spokesman said: “CNWL is investigating a case from 1982 at Shenley Hospital, as the inheritor Trust for this site (which was closed in 1998). The allegation is about a teenager (not a patient) who took part in a sports event held there when Savile was present. We have spoken to this person. Our Report will be published in line with all the others.” The report will be published in January 2015.
