Tiny kitten rescued from oil drum in Watford

gollum - exhauseted and fast asleepEarlier this week, the RSPCA was called to rescue a tiny five week old kitten who was found in oil container on industrial estate in Watford. When he pulled out of the container he was incredibly scrawny and covered in thick black oil. He was nothing but huge pitiful eyes, so he has been called Gollum. Gollum was rushed straight to the vets, where after a careful wash it was quite a surprise to see his true ginger colouring underneath. The poor little mite was exhausted, and after some food he fell fast asleep. “It was such a traumatic day for little Gollum. Unsurprisingly he was completely wiped out”, said Animal Welfare Officer Tracy Deamer. Thanks to RSPCA Middlesex North West – your local RSPCA Branch – Gollum will be get the very best love and care, a soft bed and a tasty meal tonight. Hopefully he hasn’t swallowed too much oil and will be well enough for adopting soon. Please can you help? A gift of £12 would feed a hungry kitten like Gollum for a month and there are more than 30 tiny kitten mouths to feed at your local RSPCA. If you can make a donation please call Aileen on 020 8429 5604, visit our website www.rspca-middlesex.org.uk or send a donation to RSPCA Middlesex North West Branch, 114 Field End Road, Eastcote, Middlesex, HA5 1RL.
