Football fans can now listen to a weekly podcast to keep them up to date on what’s going on at St Alban City FC.
The St Albans Podcast with Danny Smith launched the podcast, A Podful of Saints last week (August 13) covering news, events, match results and everything else that has fans of the club talking.
Released every Tuesday at 7am A Podful of Saints will feature Jake Ellacott, lifelong fan and media manager for the club and Dave Tavener, lifelong fan and club historian.
In its inaugural episode, Dave and Jake reflected on the 2018/19 campaign and City’s finishing position outside the play-offs, the players that have departed the club over the summer and the opposition that Ian Allinson’s men faced last term.
The duo also touched upon the manager’s new full-time role at the club, with Dave providing some historical perspective on the position.
Dave Tavener said: “This is a brand new, ground-breaking venture for supporters of a non-league club.
“We have come from the terraces, we see things from the fan’s perspectives, and, with some of us as members of the media, we will look to add a bit more insight to events at Clarence Park.
“We would love to get feedback from supporters on issues within the club, performances on the pitch and the National League South in general.”
Jake commented: “I was really pleased to be asked by Danny to feature on the podcast and I hope supporters enjoy it. This is run by fans for fans, with the aim of building discussion and giving those that follow the club an outlet and a place for discussion. We are really keen to offer a number of different views and opinions on what is going on both on and off the pitch at the club, so if you want to get involved please do get in touch.”
