Kings Church Amersham FC (KCA FC) have announced a new internal football festival scheduled for July 3 after receiving help from several local organisations.
Financial support from Tesco Amersham has made a huge difference to the day as the money has been used to buy new five-a-side goalposts.
Furthermore, Code Ninjas have come on board as a sponsor for the inaugural football festival. New to Amersham, Code Ninjas will set up camp in the new Amersham Town FC clubhouse to introduce KCA FC players to the world of coding in a fun way.
Prasad Prabhakaran, director at Code Ninjas, said: “Code Ninjas, Amersham is an after-school coding club committed to helping children to think, solve STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) problems and develop their coding skills through gaming.
“We have had an abundance of support from the local community and are so excited to be a part of the KCA football community. With this collaboration, we hope to encourage the kids in our community to develop an interest in coding and incite a passion for problem-solving and game-building.”
The day’s events include over 60 matches and 38 five-a-side teams. Four pitches will be created on the main Amersham Town FC pitch, with the finale of the day being an 11-a-side match between Amersham Town FC and the KCA FC under 18s as a farewell to those players.
On the day, there will be plenty of entertainment, food and drinks for players and family, with the Euro quarter finals also being shown in the bar after the matches.
In other exciting news for the club, Heart of Bucks and the Football Foundation have approved grants that will cover the cost of three sets of new portable goalposts for the Amersham Town FC training pitch.
Paul Serkis, KCA FC vice-chair, said: “These generous grants will make a huge difference to the club and our players. The new training pitch and now new goalposts will ensure we can continue to deliver quality facilities.
“So, a huge thank you to both Heart of Bucks and the Football Foundation”.
