A Northwood-based charity combatting poverty in Africa are delighted to have been selected by pupils at St Martin’s School for a project to help promote them.

Help Change Lives work to help underprivileged families in Kenya, providing education, water, food, shelter, counselling and more services.

They were chosen by the school’s Year Eight boys, along with four other local charities, as part of a marketing campaign project they are undertaking.

Co-founder and trustee of the charity, Pallvee Shah, who is also a Northwood resident, was invited to be part of an expert judging panel along with Hand on Heart, a Watford based charity.

She said: “The presentations were excellent and show-cased imaginative websites, merchandising, events, posters, leaflets, videos, pie-charts, budgets and PowerPoints all of which the boys had prepared themselves under the guidance of their English teacher, Mrs Moneypenny and Mrs Webber.

“This is a great initiative by St Martin’s. It was impressive to see the teamwork and amount of effort the boys had put in. The presentations were delivered with a lot of confidence and humour and were very enjoyable. Well done!”

“As a small local charity, we were so delighted to have been chosen by one group of boys, who really understood our work to help alleviate poverty through love and compassion.

“They even came up with a lovely slogan – “Their heart, your hands” and designed a beautiful t-shirt that they presented to Pallvee at the end of the event.”
