Officers investigating a fire at a block of flats in Borehamwood on Friday, August 12 are appealing for information and footage that may have been taken.
A fire was started close to the flats in Balmoral Drive just before 3.30pm. The fire spread to the main building causing extensive damage to a number of flats.
Detective Inspector Beth Hanna said: “Residents from all 21 flats have been placed in temporary accommodation which is incredibly distressing and will, of course, have a deep impact.
“We believe a bonfire started close to the flats was the cause of the fire, however we are fully investigating the circumstances of what happened, and I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the events leading up to it. I would also be keen to receive any footage of the fire that people may have captured as this would also be useful to the investigation.”
