Croxley Green FC have launched a benevolent fund to help support club members that have been adversely affected by the Covid-19 crisis.
The Club primarily operates on a subscription basis and despite rising annual costs, have managed to keep the annual subscriptions at the same level for the last three years.
The continued invaluable support of its two main sponsors Grosvenor Estate Agency and Gavin West Building Contractors has also allowed the Club to grow.
The Club Executive Committee, are fully aware that the past few months have been extremely difficult for everyone, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and therefore, set up CGFC benevolent fund, underwriting the fund by £10,000, to ensure that up to 75 boys and girls can continue to play football, to help those parents that would have otherwise struggled to pay the annual subscriptions.
Richard New, chairman of Croxley Green FC, said “We decided to set-up the fund, as everyone has suffered due to this awful virus and the Club wanted to help in some small way, to ensure the local community’s youth could still play football.”
The fund set-up has been structured in such a way that third party donations can also be received to boost the value of the fund.
Richard said: “Donations are important, as the more money we raise the more families we can help, and the more children can play football.”
Richard wanted to extend his particular thanks to his core “Executive Committee Team” of Paul Blake (Vice Chair), Gary Walker (Club Treasurer), Heather Fish (Club Welfare and Covid-19 Officer).
