FILMS 4 HUMANITY: Chalfont filmmakers raise £6,000 for Ukrainian appeal

Published on: 19th April 2022   |   By: Lizzie Ellis   |   Category: Uncategorized

A group of filmmakers from the Chalfonts are on a mission to support Ukraine by offering first-hand support at refugee camps in Poland.

Anastasia Harrold, Ben Sheridan and Madeleine Cole, known as Films 4 Humanity, have already made two trips from Gerrards Cross all the way to Korczowa in Poland to deliver essential supplies.

The trio, who work as assistant directors in the film industry is a not-for-profit organisation, raising funds to support their partner ZSR, an NGO who are working on the frontline of the Ukraine crisis.

The project has already raised more than £5,500 for an ambulance, medical equipment, and supplies for ZSR in Poland on the frontline of the Refugee Crisis.

Speaking to ChalfontsNews, Madeline said: “One of our priorities is getting them an ambulance – the one they currently have is at the end of its life, it has broken down multiple times and is being split between two refugee centres.

“We are assessing the situation at the different refugee centres and seeing where our help is most needed as the circumstances change. Films4Humanity is as transparent as it gets, it us run by the three of us and one of our goals is to show people where the money is going.

“If we don’t get donations, we can’t keep supporting ZFR and there is a high chance they will have to reduce or stop their operations. We are calling out to people and companies for donations keep going.”
