A man who sexually abused a boy and girl in Watford in the early 1990s has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment in court today.

Northampton-born Colin McKissock, aged 70, received the sentence after having been convicted of 13 offences at St Albans Crown Court in February of this year.

There were eight charges of indecent assault on a male, three charges of indecency with a child and two of indecent assault on a female.

Judge Richard Foster handed down the lengthy sentence with an extended 2-year licence period as well, meaning upon release he can be recalled to prison at any time in the following two years after his sentence. McKissock must also register as a sex offender and abide by the terms of a lifetime sexual harm prevention order.

Judge Foster said in court “You have been a sexual predator. You used your charm to groom children to gratify your own perverted sexual desire.”. He later stated was sentencing him for “despicable offences” saying he had shown “no remorse and remained in denial.”

McKissock’s male victim, spoke of the abuse he faced when he was aged between 11 and 13, stating the older man got him to engage in sexual activity. He said to the court, “Colin told me it was all perfectly natural for me.” Prosecutor Peter Shaw said the male victim had suffered “severe psychological harm.”

The female victim stated she was aged between 12 and 13 when he touched her on two desperate occasions. She described McKissock as an “‘evil narcissist who should be removed from society as long as possible.”

McKissock, a retired bank manager, continues to deny all charges, stated he had no sexual interest in these children or discussed sex with them. His barrister emphasised his current bladder cancer, that he was a functioning alcoholic at the time and that the offences were 30 years ago.

He had previously been jailed for three years in 2017 after being found guilty of the sexual abuse of an award-winning Scottish actress when she was no older than 11 years old. She also gave evidence in the more recent trial.
