Pupils at a Croxley secondary school have managed to gather together more than 290 kilograms worth of food items for a local food bank.
Organised by year 12 students Josh Collins and Finn Casselton, and teacher and part-time volunteer Ms Platt, the non-perishable foodstuffs were collected by children from each year group at Croxley Danes School.
When the collection drive was done, on December 5, Josh, Finn and Ms Platt themselves went down to the Watford Food Bank and delivered the items to the staff there personally.
The total donation weighed a fantastic 290.95 kilograms, a sizeable portion. These essential goods were then used by various hard-hit families throughout the Christmas period.
A spokesperson for Croxley Danes said: “We were delighted with the support and donations that were received for Watford Food Bank. It a fantastic effort by all and we are sure made a huge difference to families this recent Christmas.”
