To celebrate the season of giving, residents across Hemel Hempstead and Tring helped collect items for DENS’ Christmas Food Bank Appeal.

Residents have spent December collecting items, volunteering and supporting the appeal to help families across the borough during the Christmas period.

Even David Taylor, MP for Hemel Hempstead, made an appearance at Tesco in Jarman Park on Saturday, November 30, to support the project. Thanks to their hard work, the community collected around 4,468kg of items.

A spokesperson for DENS said: “A big thank you to all who donated and volunteered at last week’s foodbank collections in Tesco’s Hemel Hempstead and Tring stores!

“This will make a huge difference for local families and individuals who need our help as we approach Christmas.”

Mr Taylor MP said: “It was good to join DENS at Tesco Jarman Park to collect essential food items for the community.

“I have joined the All-Party Parliamentary Group focused on ending the need for food banks.”
