New vicar of All Saints Church, Kings Langley, Father James McDonald is excited to start a new beginning at what he describes as a fantastic welcoming church.

James is coming up to five years this June since being ordained and started his journey when he was part of a church choir.

He said: “I started out singing in a church choir. I saw how the church and the clergy helped people from all walks of life and I was inspired by Jesus’ message of love, hope and peace.”

The new vicar previously worked at a church in York and felt like it was the right time to move to somewhere new which had a great community.

He added: “It felt like the right time to move to somewhere new. Everyone has been very welcoming and I am excited to be working with a new group of positive people.

“I am looking forward to seeing how All Saints can support the community. I bring an experience of working with children and families and that’s a part of my ministry that I have always loved.

“I also bring a love for music and putting together special services. We are developing some new ideas at the moment for the future. In the meantime anyone is welcome to join us at our regular services at 8am and 9.30am on Sundays.

“If anyone sees me out and about in the village, then I am always happy for people to come over and introduce themselves and chat to me about arranging Baptisms and Weddings or how they think All Saints can help them and the community.”

The next special services at All Saints will be on Palm Sunday, April 14 at 9.30am and Easter Day, April 21at 9.30am – complete with Easter Egg hunt.
