A four-day music festival is set to return to Maple Cross at the end of this month, in aid of female and child refugees.
FarmFest, now in its twelfth year, is hosted by the Catholic Worker Farm (CWM) at Lynsters Farm on Old Uxbridge Road, and will showcase a number of upcoming indie artists from across the region.
As well as music, the festival also promises live comedy, a silent disco, real ale, and a barbecue, as well as face painting, a bouncy castle, and trampolines for younger visitors.
All proceeds from the event will go towards providing a home for female and child refugees and asylum seekers. The CWM currently provides accommodation, food, English lessons, counselling, and other services for 19 destitute female asylum seekers and their children.
A spokesperson for CWM said: “We have seen many broken women and children healed through our work. Over the past 16 years, we have housed more than 600 women and children and the only reason why we are still open is because of the wider community supporting us on a regular basis.”
FarmFest will run from August 25 to 28. Tickets are available from farmfest.info
