A man has been handed a four-month custodial sentence after being convicted for a number of shoplifting offences.
Between October 15, 2022, and March 16, 2024, 16 offences were committed across Watford and South Oxhey, where items including alcohol and confectionary were stolen from shops.
Leslie Glass-Holmes, 49, of no fixed address in Hertfordshire, was charged with 16 counts of theft from a shop.
Glass-Holmes appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on Friday (April 5) where he pleaded guilty to all charges and was given a four-month custodial sentence, one week for each of the 16 charges.
Sergeant Andy Blackwood said: “This is a fantastic piece of work from the officers who have investigated all 16 offences and secured charges.
“It proves that this kind of behaviour is not tolerated in Three Rivers and those who commit such crimes will be brought to justice.
“This type of crime may be seen as low level to some; however, it can be associated with other offences. When we stop shoplifters, it can have a wider impact on the local community.”
