When Ali Jobe walked into the gates of Parkfield Youth with his five-year-old son over 20 years ago, he didn’t know the part he would go on to play in the club’s legacy.
From being a keen parent, to a coach with FA badges, to now chairman and secretary, Ali knows first-hand the impact the Hatch End-based club has had on families in the area.
On Sunday, July 20, he will be joined by current and ex-players, officials, and parents to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the club.
Parkfield Youth, which gives opportunities for local children to learn and play football in a safe environment, has accumulated around 250 current players.
Now, they are hoping to bring together the old and new to celebrate what makes the club unique.
Speaking to Pinnernews, Ali said: “It is a fantastic achievement for the club, but I want to ensure the club left in a stable position and growing all the time to continue providing those opportunities to the community.
“It will be a fun day where everyone can come together to share their experiences.”
